What does "Fully Managed" mean at GB Hosting?
We look after the whole technical stack. Our team sets up your server, keeps the operating system and packages patched, handles the firewall, runs daily backups and responds to server alerts 24/7. You never have to type a Linux command or worry about kernel security holes. If you want to, though, a browser terminal is one click away in your control panel. Every plan has one.
Is shared hosting really isolated from other customers?
Yes. Even on the Starter plan from €11.90/mo (incl. VAT) your site runs inside its own LXC container with its own root filesystem, process table, and network interface, plus a CPU and RAM quota enforced by the Linux kernel through cgroups. Other customers cannot read your files, see your processes, or consume the resources reserved for you. It is a real container, and you can see it for yourself: the browser terminal in your control panel drops you straight into it, no SSH client or key setup required. Windows Server plans get the same separation as dedicated virtual machines.
Do I get terminal access on the Starter plan?
Yes. A full browser terminal comes with every plan, starting at €11.90/mo incl. VAT. You open it from your control panel and land in a shell inside your own container. Run Composer, WP-CLI, npm, git, cron and database dumps, tail your logs, or fix a stuck deploy at 11pm. There's nothing to install, no SSH client and no key exchange, and it works from any machine you happen to be sitting at. Shared plans run as your own unprivileged user; Cloud plans give you root in your instance. Windows Server plans get a browser RDP console instead. Rather not touch a command line at all? You never have to. Our engineers still run the stack for you.
How does the free website migration work?
After you sign up, send us the login details for your old provider. Our senior systems engineers copy over your files, databases, mailboxes and DNS settings. We check everything on a preview first. Then we switch DNS over, with no downtime. Everything about our free website migration.
Where are your datacenters physically located?
All our servers are in ISO 27001 certified datacenters in Falkenstein, Germany. Optional secondary backup clusters sit in Nuremberg. All data stays under German and EU law (GDPR/DSGVO).
How do backups work, and how long do you keep them?
Backups run automatically every 24 hours and are copied to offsite vaults in a separate location. We keep them for 7 to 30 days, depending on your plan. You can restore one with a single click in the client portal. Or just ask support to do it for you.
Can I run UiPath or RPA bots on the Windows Hosting plans?
Yes. Our Windows Server instances come with dedicated resources, persistent desktop sessions and MS SQL support. Attended or unattended UiPath bots, Power Automate Desktop agents and custom RPA pipelines run on them without interruption. Sizing and plans: UiPath server hosting.
Do you offer web hosting for agencies?
Yes. For several client websites our Premium plan (5 domains, its own container) is a good fit, and a managed VPS for larger projects. We move existing client websites across for free. We do not currently offer a reseller programme of our own.
