Should I choose Windows Basic or Windows Business? expand_more
Windows Basic at €50/mo (4 vCPU, 8 GB of RAM and 80 GB of NVMe) suits a .NET application, a couple of automation bots or a remote desktop workstation. Choose Windows Business at €100/mo when several robots run side by side, when MS SQL Server carries real load, or when you are connecting to UiPath Orchestrator: it doubles the cores, memory and storage. Moving from Basic to Business later is handled by our team.
Is the Windows Server licence included in the price? expand_more
Yes. The Windows Server licence is part of the monthly price on both plans, so there is nothing extra to buy from Microsoft to get the server running. Licences for software you install on top, such as UiPath itself, stay with you, just as they would on your own hardware.
How do I connect, and is my server isolated from other customers? expand_more
Connect with any standard Remote Desktop client from Windows, macOS or Linux, or open the browser RDP console from your control panel when you are away from your usual machine. You log in as administrator and can use PowerShell for anything you want to script. Each Windows plan runs as its own dedicated virtual machine, so other customers cannot see your files or processes or use the resources reserved for you.
If I have administrator access, is the server still managed? expand_more
Yes. Administrator access lets you install and run your own software, and you still have our team behind you. They apply Windows updates and security patches, maintain the firewall, run the daily snapshot backups and respond to monitoring alerts 24/7. There are no long-term contracts, and you can cancel any time.
How do backups work, and how long do you keep them? expand_more
Snapshot backups of your whole Windows server run automatically every 24 hours and are copied to offsite vaults in Nuremberg. We keep them for 7 to 30 days, depending on your plan. You can restore one with a single click in the client portal. Or just ask support to do it for you.
